The most common generations on the Montenegrin market are Passat B6 (2005–2010), B7 (2010–2014), B8 (2014–2024), and the current B9. Passat B6 and B7 are still often found as affordable used options, while the B8 offers a more modern design and technology. The Variant estate is especially popular thanks to its large trunk and practicality for family trips.
The most in-demand versions are diesel 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI models with outputs from 105 to 240 HP in the biTDI version. Gasoline 1.4 TSI, 1.8 TSI, and 2.0 TSI engines also have a strong presence.
