Among used Nissan vehicles in Montenegro, the Qashqai (J10 and J11), Juke and X-Trail (T31 and T32) dominate. In the city-car segment, the Micra and Note are represented. The most common engines are the 1.5 dCi diesel (from Renault) and 1.6 dCi, as well as the naturally aspirated 1.6 16V petrol and 1.2 DIG-T turbo petrol in newer model years.
The 1.5 dCi and 1.6 dCi engines share a lot of technology with Renault, so the same advice applies — check the condition of the injectors, glow plugs and EGR valve. The CVT automatic transmission (Jatco) in Qashqai and X-Trail models can be problematic on neglected examples and when towing a trailer — обязательно ask for proof of regular oil changes every 60,000 km. Check the body condition on older X-Trail vehicles due to underbody corrosion.
A used Nissan model usually ranges from 3.000 to 18.000 EUR. Older Qashqai J10 models can be found from 4.500 EUR, newer J11 generations from 8.000 to 16.000 EUR, while the X-Trail T32 starts from 8.000 to 18.000 EUR depending on year and equipment. The service network is well developed, and parts are affordable and compatible with the Renault platform.
The Nissan Qashqai J11 with the 1.5 dCi (from 2017) is one of the most reliable choices, especially with a manual gearbox. The X-Trail T32 with the same engine also performs well, and the Micra K13 with the naturally aspirated 1.2 petrol is known for its simplicity and low service costs.
The CVT gearbox can be reliable if it has been serviced regularly (preventive oil change every 60,000 km). On neglected examples, overheating and jerking at take-off are common, and repairs can cost 1.500–3.000 EUR. It is recommended to ask for proof of transmission servicing before purchase.
Nissan is in the mid-range when it comes to maintenance costs. A regular service costs 80–170 EUR. Parts are affordable and often compatible with Renault (thanks to the Renault-Nissan alliance), which makes sourcing spares easier.
