The Qashqai is Nissan’s best-selling model and one of the most popular compact SUVs on the Montenegrin market. The Juke appeals to buyers looking for a smaller, more expressive SUV, while the X-Trail is the choice for those who want a larger family SUV or a seven-seater. The Micra has long been a familiar name in the compact city-car segment, and the Navara and Leaf cover the pickup and electric segments.
Nissan uses a wide range of powertrains — DIG-T turbo petrol engines (1.0, 1.2, 1.3, 1.6), dCi diesel engines shared with Renault (1.5, 1.6, 2.0), and e-Power hybrid systems in the Qashqai and X-Trail. The Nissan Leaf is one of the pioneers of mass electric mobility and is available on the Montenegrin market with two battery options (40 and 62 kWh). Gearboxes include manual, CVT Xtronic and automatic.
When buying a used Nissan, check the service history and the condition of the CVT gearbox (Xtronic), especially on older Qashqai and X-Trail models, as CVT transmissions are sensitive to neglected maintenance. For the Nissan Leaf, be sure to check the battery capacity and the number of fast charges in the vehicle history — this directly affects range.
The Qashqai is by far the most popular Nissan model, especially the J11 and J12 generations. The Juke and X-Trail also have a stable presence, while the Leaf is the best-known electric Nissan on the Montenegrin market.
The Xtronic CVT gearbox requires regular oil changes every 60,000–80,000 km. With regular servicing it performs reliably, but neglected maintenance can lead to expensive repairs. When buying a used Nissan with a CVT gearbox, always ask for proof of the oil change.
The original battery in the first-generation Leaf (24 kWh) loses capacity faster than many competitors’ batteries. The second-generation Leaf (40 and 62 kWh) has better battery durability. The battery warranty is 8 years or 160,000 km. It is recommended to check the SOH (state of health) before buying a used Leaf.
Nissan is in the mid-price range. Regular servicing for a Qashqai or Juke costs between 120 and 250 euros. Spare parts are affordable — many mechanical components are shared with Renault, which makes sourcing easier and keeps prices down.
