Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid Technology

Until 2023, the core of Peugeot’s hybrid lineup was plug-in hybrid: the 308 Hybrid, 3008 Hybrid and 508 Hybrid combine a 1.6 PureTech turbo petrol engine with an electric motor and a 12.4 or 14.2 kWh battery, delivering 55–65 km of fully electric range. From 2023, Peugeot also introduced 48V mild hybrids under the Hybrid 136 badge, with a 1.2 PureTech engine and an e-DCS6 transmission, where the battery is charged only while driving.

Benefits in Everyday Driving

Plug-in hybrid versions make it possible to handle daily shorter trips without using petrol, while still being ready for longer journeys when the engine kicks in. Quiet, comfortable electric driving is especially noticeable in the city. Mild hybrids (Hybrid 136) do not require external charging and offer consumption of around 5 l/100 km, with the added benefit of electric motor assistance during start-off and acceleration.

The service network for Peugeot hybrids is well covered.
