Mercedes Hybrid Lineup

Plug-in petrol versions include A250e, C300e, E300e, GLC 300e and GLE 450e — a combination of the 2.0 M264 engine and an electric motor with system output of 218–381 HP. Diesel plug-in models (unique in Europe) are available in C300de, E300de, GLC 300de and GLE 350de, delivering exceptional efficiency on long trips together with quiet electric driving in the city. Electric range is 50–110 km depending on battery generation (W205 around 50 km, W206 and W214 over 100 km).

Who Is the Mercedes Hybrid Right For

A plug-in Mercedes makes the most sense for drivers who cover 30–80 km every day and can charge at home or at work. In that setup, fuel consumption can be minimal. Diesel plug-ins (300de, 350de) are especially attractive for business drivers who combine city driving with frequent 500+ km trips — offering diesel efficiency and EV flexibility.

What to Check Before Buying

Check the battery SoH and number of full cycles through Mercedes Star diagnostics. Mercedes provides a 6 to 8 year warranty on the hybrid battery, depending on the model. Inspect the regenerative braking system, eBoost system, and switching between electric and hybrid modes. Plug-in models from corporate fleets in the EU are often not charged regularly — this can mean increased wear on the petrol/diesel part of the engine.
