Main petrol engines

The M264 (2.0 turbo) is widely used in the C200, C300, E200, E300 and GLC 200/300 models with 184–272 HP. The M260 (1.3/1.5 turbo) is the smaller engine used in the A, B and CLA Class (A180, A200). The M256 (3.0 inline-six) with EQ Boost 48V technology is used in the E450, S450 and GLE 450 models with around 367 HP. AMG models (C43, E53, C63, GLE 63) use high-performance versions with biturbo and V8 configurations.

What to check when buying

For M260 engines, pay attention to the high-pressure fuel pumps (HPFP) — some examples have had pumps replaced under warranty. The M264 with direct injection can develop deposits on the intake valves if driven mostly on short city trips — at mileage above 100,000 km, walnut blasting cleaning is recommended. Check the turbocharger condition and monitor any possible oil consumption. On AMG models, inspect the suspension, brakes and accident history in detail.

Mercedes petrol on the EU import market

Most Mercedes petrol models in Montenegro come from the EU, with a small number imported from the US (CLS, GLE Coupe). The price range for a C200 (W205) runs from €12,000 to €28,000 depending on year and equipment. The E300 and GLC 300 are popular in the business segment, with prices from €30,000 to €50,000. AMG models (for example C43) require a careful inspection because they are often driven more aggressively.
