The most common Audi SUV models are Q5 and Q7, which regularly appear in the used-car market. The compact Q3 is popular as a family and city SUV, while the Q8 belongs to the premium segment with a coupe-like silhouette. Q4 e-tron and e-tron are also appearing more often, as Audi’s first fully electric SUV models. Most available examples come with quattro all-wheel drive.
Audi SUV models are most often available with 2.0 TDI and 3.0 TDI diesel engines, known for good fuel economy and durability. Petrol 2.0 TFSI and 3.0 TFSI versions are found in newer examples. Plug-in hybrid models with the TFSI e badge combine electric and petrol drive. The quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system is standard on most Q models and delivers stability on Montenegro’s roads in all conditions.
When buying a used Audi SUV, look for a service book and proof of regular oil changes, especially on TDI engines. For S tronic and tiptronic gearboxes, check whether the oil has been changed at the recommended intervals — missed maintenance can lead to expensive repairs. The quattro system requires occasional inspection of the Haldex coupling (on Q3 and Q5) or the Torsen differential. A diagnostic check at an authorised service centre is recommended before purchase, especially for examples with mileage above 200,000 km.
The Audi Q5 is the most in-demand model thanks to its mix of size, comfort and reasonable fuel consumption. The Q7 is popular with buyers who need more space and three rows of seats, while the Q3 is a common choice for city driving.
quattro is Audi’s permanent all-wheel-drive system. Different generations use Torsen or Haldex components, while modern e-tron models use electric motors on both axles. The system improves stability on wet, slippery and mountain roads.
Audi TDI engines can last well beyond 300,000 km with regular servicing. The key is that the vehicle has been properly maintained, that the gearbox oil has been changed, and that there are no issues with the DPF filter or turbocharger.
