The Q8 debuted in 2018 as the flagship model in Audi’s SUV lineup. It uses the MLB Evo platform and combines Q7 size with a sportier coupe roofline and a lower-slung silhouette. It comes standard with two touchscreens, a virtual cockpit and a rich package of driver-assistance features. The SQ8 and RS Q8 are high-performance sport versions with V8 engines.
The most sought-after versions in Montenegro are the 50 TDI (286 HP) and 45 TDI (231 HP) with inline-six diesel engines and a 48V mild-hybrid system. The petrol 55 TFSI with 340 HP and the SQ8 with a 4.0 TDI engine (435 HP) deliver especially strong performance. The plug-in hybrid 60 TFSI e offers 462 HP and an electric range of around 60 km. quattro drive is standard across all versions.
The Q8 is a technologically advanced model — check that all touchscreens, driver-assistance systems and the adaptive air suspension, standard on higher trims, are working properly. The automatic ZF8HP transmission requires an oil change every 80,000 km. Also check the condition of the 48V mild-hybrid system and the batteries in plug-in hybrid versions. A CARFAX report is recommended for imported vehicles.
The Q7 has a classic SUV roofline, seven seats and a larger trunk, while the Q8 has a lower coupe roofline, five seats and a sportier look. The mechanics, engines and drivetrains are almost identical. The Q8 is aimed at buyers who prioritize design and status over maximum practicality.
Regular servicing costs 300–600 EUR. Major repairs such as replacing air suspension components, the plug-in hybrid battery or driver-assistance systems can be significantly more expensive. Servicing at authorized Audi service centers is recommended because of the complex electronics.
The Q8 has a 605-liter trunk (expandable to 1,755) and a spacious cabin for five passengers. The high driving position and advanced assistance systems make it practical for long trips on Montenegro’s roads and highways. The lower roofline can reduce accessibility in garages with limited height.
