The Superb is available as a liftback saloon and as a Combi estate. Among its rivals, the Superb stands out for exceptionally generous rear-seat space and a boot that exceeds 660 litres in the estate version, while the saloon offers almost 625 litres. Interior build quality is on the level of higher classes, with options such as leather seats, seat ventilation and a Canton sound system. That makes it a popular choice for taxi and transfer operators in Montenegro.
The most sought-after engines are the 2.0 TDI diesel with 150 to 200 HP and the 1.5 TSI petrol engine. There is also a 2.0 TSI petrol with 4x4 drive, often chosen for more demanding conditions. The latest generation also offers a plug-in hybrid iV version with an electric range of around 60 km. The DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox is available on most versions and is recommended with the 2.0 TDI engine.
Check the service history, especially the DSG gearbox fluid change interval. On 2.0 TDI engines, inspect the condition of the DPF filter, EGR valve and turbocharger. DCC adaptive dampers are a comfortable extra, but expensive to service if they fail, so it is worth testing them in all modes. Also check the sunroof if the vehicle has a panoramic glass roof, due to possible leaks.

2.0 TDI versions use around 5 to 6.5 litres per 100 km in combined driving. Petrol 1.5 and 2.0 TSI versions consume 6 to 8 litres, while the plug-in hybrid iV version can use much less petrol in everyday use if charged regularly.
