The most common generations are the Corsa D (2006–2014), Corsa E (2014–2019) and Corsa F (since 2019). The latest Corsa F is based on the Stellantis CMP platform, shared with the Peugeot 208, and also offers a fully electric Corsa-e variant. The Corsa is available as a three-door or five-door hatchback (depending on the generation), with a practical boot and a good all-around body shape for driving in densely populated areas.
In the Corsa D and E, the range includes 1.0 ECOTEC, 1.2 and 1.4 petrol engines, as well as 1.3 CDTi diesel engines. The Corsa F offers 1.2 PureTech petrol engines (naturally aspirated and turbo) and 1.5 BlueHDi diesel units from the Stellantis group. The 1.2 PureTech turbo petrol engine uses around 5 to 6 litres per 100 km in mixed driving. The fully electric Corsa-e offers a range of around 350 km on the WLTP cycle.
Look for a full service history, especially regular oil changes on smaller turbo engines. On 1.2 PureTech engines, there was an issue with the timing belt running in oil, which required shorter replacement intervals. Check the body condition, especially the lower parts of the doors and sills. Make sure the power windows, air conditioning and all controls work properly.
Corsa D and E are based on the GM Gamma platform with GM engines. Corsa F is the first generation on the Stellantis CMP platform with PSA/Stellantis engines and the option of a fully electric Corsa-e variant.
The Corsa is generally a reliable city car. Critical points on newer Corsa F models are regular oil changes and, on 1.2 PureTech engines, the timing belt running in oil, which requires careful monitoring of service intervals.
The naturally aspirated 1.2 petrol engine consumes around 6 to 7 litres per 100 km in city driving. The turbo 1.2 PureTech uses 5 to 6 litres in mixed driving. The 1.5 BlueHDi diesel can use less than 4.5 litres per 100 km on open roads.
