Fiat Punto Generations

The Fiat Punto was produced through three main generations: the first (1993–1999), the second (1999–2010), and the third, known as Grande Punto and later Punto Evo (2005–2018). The Grande Punto is the most common on the Montenegrin market and offered a wide range of engines — from 1.2 and 1.4 petrol to 1.3 Multijet and 1.9 JTD diesel units. Punto Evo and the facelifted Punto (2012+) brought a modernized interior and new safety systems. Body styles are available in three- and five-door hatchback versions.

Engines and Fuel Consumption

The most popular engine is the 1.3 Multijet diesel (75 or 90 HP) with an average fuel consumption of around 4.5 l/100 km. The petrol 1.2 8V (60 HP) and 1.4 8V (77 HP) use 6–7 l/100 km and are simple to maintain. Many examples come with a factory-fitted or aftermarket LPG system, which further lowers fuel costs. The stronger 1.4 T-Jet (120 HP) offers a more dynamic drive.

What to Check When Buying

Check the bodywork and sills, as older Punto models are prone to corrosion.
