Generations and engines
The modern Fiat 500 (code 312) was introduced in 2007 and stayed in production for over 15 years with several facelifts. The most common engines are the 1.2 8V petrol (69 HP), 0.9 TwinAir turbo petrol (85/105 HP), 1.3 Multijet diesel (75/95 HP), and the small 1.4 16V (100 HP) in sporty Abarth versions. Body styles include the hatchback (3-door) and the cabrio version with a fabric roof (500C). The second, fully electric generation (500e) launched in 2020 and uses a new platform with 24 or 42 kWh batteries.
