Renault’s main strength in the EV segment is the Zoe, available with 22, 41 and 52 kWh batteries, and up to 395 km of range (WLTP) in newer models. The Megane E-Tech Electric, launched in 2022, brings the modern CMF-EV platform, a battery of up to 60 kWh and a range of around 470 km. The Twingo Electric is a city car with a 22 kWh battery and around 190 km of range.
When buying used Renault Zoe cars, it’s important to distinguish between models where the battery is owned by the driver and those where it is leased from the manufacturer (battery rental). Check the battery SoH (State of Health), which in healthy examples after 100,000 km is 85–90%. The Megane E-Tech comes with a factory battery warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km up to 70% capacity.
Renault Zoe is a common choice among the first EV cars in Montenegro thanks to its affordable price and compact dimensions suited to city environments such as Podgorica and Tivat. The charging network on the coast and in the capital makes everyday use comfortable. The Megane E-Tech supports DC fast charging up to 130 kW, making it suitable even for longer trips across the region.
Range depends on the generation and battery. The latest versions with the 52 kWh battery offer about 395 km according to the WLTP standard, while in real-world driving you can usually get 280–340 km, depending on driving mode and temperature.
On earlier Zoe models, the battery was not sold with the car but leased from Renault for a monthly fee. When buying a used Zoe, always check whether the battery is owned outright or covered by a rental agreement — this directly affects the total cost.
