The most common used Honda models are the Civic (FK and FN generations) and CR-V (III, IV and V), while family buyers often choose the Accord and the compact Jazz. The most common engines are the naturally aspirated 1.4 and 1.8 i-VTEC petrol units in Civic models, as well as the 2.0 i-VTEC in CR-V vehicles. Older 2.2 i-CTDi and 2.2 i-DTEC diesel engines are also available, but in smaller numbers.
i-VTEC petrol engines are extremely reliable, but they do require regular oil changes (every 10,000–15,000 km). With 2.2 i-CTDi diesel engines, issues with worn turbochargers and clogged EGR valves are common — repairs can cost €700–1,500. The CVT automatic transmission in Civic and Jazz models is generally reliable, but it does require preventive oil changes. Check the bodywork for corrosion on the sills in older CR-V models.
Used Honda models are usually priced between €3,000 and €18,000. Older Civic and Jazz models can be found from €3,500, newer Civics range from €7,000 to €15,000, while the CR-V goes from €5,000 to €18,000 depending on the year and equipment.
