What Defines a Coupe Body Style
A coupe is a classic two-door body style with a lower roofline than the sedan of the same model, giving it a sportier look and better aerodynamics. Rear seats are usually present, but with much less space than in a sedan, so coupe models are most often chosen as a second car or as a car for drivers without children. Most coupe models come with stronger engines — from 2.0 turbo petrol units to V6, V8, and electric powertrains — and are aimed at rear-wheel drive or AWD. More recently, four-door “coupe” versions have also appeared (for example, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, Audi A5 Sportback) with a similar design language.
