Ford Focus and Fiesta are among the most sought-after models in the compact segment on the Montenegrin market, known for their strong driving dynamics and reliable engines. Kuga dominates the SUV segment as a compact family SUV, while Mondeo (including the newer Vignale) remains a choice for those looking for a spacious sedan or estate. Among used models, C-Max, S-Max, and the older Galaxy are also common.
Ford developed the award-winning EcoBoost turbo petrol engine (1.0, 1.5), which offers excellent performance with low fuel consumption. TDCi diesel engines (1.5 and 2.0) are known for their durability. The newer Kuga PHEV offers plug-in hybrid power, while the Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s electric offering. Gearboxes are available as manual and automatic PowerShift / 8-speed automatic.
When buying a used Ford, check the service history and the condition of the DPF filter on TDCi diesel engines. On older models with the PowerShift dual dry-clutch gearbox (Focus, Kuga, C-Max from 2011–2016), check how smoothly it shifts between gears, as these gearboxes were prone to faults. Ford spare parts are readily available in Montenegro at affordable prices.

The 1.0 EcoBoost has been named Engine of the Year multiple times and is known for a strong balance of performance and fuel economy. Early examples (2012–2014) had some cooling issues, but newer generations are reliable with regular maintenance and quality oil.
Ford PowerShift with the dual dry clutch (DPS6) used in the Focus, Fiesta, and Kuga from 2011–2016 had issues with jerking and premature clutch wear. Many examples received extended warranties or clutch replacements. When buying a used Ford from that period, be sure to test the gearbox in city driving.
Ford is in the mid-range when it comes to maintenance costs. Regular servicing for a Focus or Fiesta costs between €100 and €220. Spare parts are affordable, and there are several independent Ford-specialist workshops in the main cities.
